What is XML? Well, thanks to Cari Jansen from Typefi, we were able to explore more of this new way of looking at your documents, and now have a better idea of what it is! It seemed very scary at first, but with Cari's help, many of us were able to start to decipher the language that is XML. I think this may have been the hardest topic, out of all so far, for many in the small audience.

First and foremost, Cari wanted us to know that XML is smart and pretty. This is an unusual way of looking at what can be confusing for us beginners, but soon we were able to see what Cari meant by this. I think by the end, many of us who are newbies to this world felt like we may be able to tackle the very basics and be able to build from there.

So we also learnt about what XML stands for (Extensible Markup Language), plus many others acronyms within the XML world: DTD and XSLT, for example. For more information, please see the PDF provided by Cari (you can download it at bottom of this page).

Thank you

Without support from our sponsors these nights are not possible, so a huge thanks as always to Adobe, Aquent, Colourwise, MBE Stones Corner, Fuji Xerox, Design College Australia and Peachpit. And a special Thank You to Typefi for lending us Cari Jansen to take us through XML and all it is able to save you in time and frustration.
