The first 2009 meeting of the Brisbane chapter of the Adobe InDesign User Group was held on Thursday 19 February, and if attendance to this first session on CS4 was anything to go by, 2009 should see the Brisbane chapter enjoy a great year. A mixture of new and old faces arrived at the Design College Of Australia where Mike McHugh, fresh from several presentations at the Adobe Roadshow the same day, presented a two-hour in-depth presentation on the new CS4 package.

A mixture of designers, developers, print specialists and students kept Mike on his toes throughout, with some interesting questions being thrown around. Those who had attended the roadshow earlier in the day appreciated the more intimate setting of the IDUG, where all had an opportunity to quiz Mike – and other creatives in attendance – on various aspects of the new package. As always, the night ended with three lucky attendees going home with some fantastic prizes from Adobe.

Increasingly, the Brisbane chapter is becoming both a great forum to explore the creative industry within Brisbane and beyond as well as an excellent opportunity to network. Word is spreading, so make sure you make it to the next meeting on Thursday 16 April!
