Greetings fellow IDUG members!

This message is brought to you by your humble chapter leader (and sleep-deprived new father).

Our last meeting could have played out as a Greek tragedy as the fates aligned against yours truly to ensure at the very least I was frazzled beyond imagination. Despite the food order being missed, Lisa's flight being delayed, and your host leaving a much-needed Mac video cable at his office, somehow we still managed to pull things together for another great session.

It was nice to see folks mingling a bit more at this meeting. I will continue to encourage the networking aspect of these events, and hope you will invite more of your colleagues and customers.

I had a brief opportunity to discuss Preferences in InDesign. As a reminder, please remember that Preferences live with the document you create, and can be changed at any time. The three preference areas include the Menus, Toolbar, and Preferences dialog box. You can create a master set of preferences for new documents, but currently there is not a way to reset all preferences at once in an existing document.

Lisa's flight did finally touch down in Dallas, and she scrambled from Love Field with enough time to deliver her presentation. With a continuation of February's meeting on Transparency, Lisa discussed the various options for Preflight, Print & PDF within InDesign. For anyone who missed the last two meetings, Lisa recently appeared on an episode of Adobe TV. The transparency episode can be found online at: http://snurl.com/2665g.

Thank you

Thank you to those who attended; your patience was matched only by my wife, who drove across town with not one, but TWO of the video cables necessary for the presentation.

Thanks to our host Clampitt Paper and Marjorie Askren for providing the meeting space at their Creative Center.

Job Opportunities

I am looking for companies/individuals to participate in our "IDUG Member Spotlight" for future meetings. Spotlight speakers will be asked to share a project/experience with InDesign, and how they benefited from the software. Please email me if you would be interested.

Also, if you are hiring, or seeking employment, please let me know at the next meeting so I can include the information in this bulletin.

Next Meeting

I look forward to seeing everyone at our next meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, June 10th.

Humbly,
A.J. Wood
