Adobe has taken the wraps off InDesign CS3! Terry White of Adobe Systems is going to put the new program through its paces and this is your chance to come and see for yourself.

The new features in InDesign CS3 empower creativity, increase efficiency and flexibility, and introduce opportunities for automating design and production workflows.

Among the many new features that will be showcased are:

- Finer Transparency controls
- Creative object effects, including feathered gradients
- Multi-file Place
- Faster Frame fitting
- Placed InDesign documents
- Nested Style looping
- Table and cell styles
- Text variables
- Expanded Quick Apply
- Advanced bullets and numbering
- Export to XHTML

Update on the newsletter design challenge:
Since the InDesign packaging has a new look and in keeping with sharing a brand identity, we have decided to extend the deadline for submitting newsletter designs to May 4. Our butterfly has flown away and new assets are posted online along with updated information. Click on the challenge link for the current details (at the top of the sidebar to the right). The winning designer will be announced at the September meeting (date and time TBA) and will receive a copy of InDesign CS3.
