The new year got off to a great start with our first gathering for 2008. We held a special event prior to the meeting, which was the screening of the movie Helvetica.

Since there were so many new attendees, we reviewed the "perks" of being an IDUG member—discounts on books and training materials as well as the many resources available on the IDUG Web site.

This meeting was devoted to helping you with your InDesign-related problems with an evening-long Q&A about production process. Entitled "Ask the Experts," we broke from our normal presentation format by giving members the opportunity to submit questions in advance with the hope of having them answered that night. Macomb Community College hosted and provided a space with plenty of elbow room and munchies for the 101 attendees.

Adobe has taken the wraps off InDesign CS3 and Terry White of Adobe Systems and an Adobe master guru put the new program through its paces.

With a raging snow storm and temperatures at single digits, 64 hardy souls made their way to our first meeting of 2007. It was held again at Schoolcraft College's VisTaTech Center, with students from the school's Computer Graphics Technology Practical Applications class showcasing their work which included a poster for the event.

The meeting was held at Schoolcraft College's VisTaTech Center with 110 attendees. Students from the school's Computer Graphics Technology (CGT) Practical Applications class took charge of sign-in and handouts for the meeting in addition to creating the print advertising.
