Very helpful and relevant to my current project. Clearly and engagingly presented. Thank you!
Jon Newby
Probably the only question left unanswered yesterday was "where does Michael Ninness get his energy?" Is it from the Red Bull or the mystical power of his colourful shirt? The answer, of course, is from his sheer enthusiasm for InDesign and Flash integration, and the possibilities it presents to us as designers.
Not even flying half-way around the world, attending a major conference, and sporting a case of jet-lag could stop Michael from delivering an amazing hour-and-a-half of information, productivity tips, and hints about the future of electronic publishing, along with a long list of handy URLs for reference (which I will hopefully be able to make available at a later date). He demonstrated how easy it is to output SWF files from InDesign and how equally simple the process is for handing your work over to a Flash developer for further work if required. Michael highlighted how designer-friendly Flash has become so that it is easier than ever before to get started with producing rich, engaging content.
This was followed by a short demo from Tony Harmer showing the contrast between the old and new ways of working in Flash, encouraging you to "get your feet wet" - don't forget that if you bought the Design Premium Suite, you have Flash already!
The feedback for the evening has been fantastic, and we are really grateful for Michael giving such a dynamic and entertaining session.
A huge thank you to Michael Ninness for giving up his time, energy and enthusiasm for us and delivering such a great demo. Thanks as always to Adobe for their great support and also to Academy Class for providing such tasty refreshments (not a scrap of pizza left).
"All great. Very interesting and will be recommending to my colleagues."
"Brilliant presentation! Many thanks for organising this session. I'm walking out with lots of new ideas."
"Great stuff as per usual - a real eye-opener from Michael."
The next meeting will be announced shortly. An afternoon event is planned for later on this year - keep an eye on your inbox and the InDesign User Group website.
