Event Details

We kicked off the 2008 with a difference like no other, hosting our very own ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’- InDesign style, of course. An enthusiastic crowd of creative professionals, educators, and students came along to be part of the live audience. Eliot Harper, Sydney’s IDUG Chapter Representative was joined by Adobe’s Mike McHugh as our hosts for the evening.

After an intense fastest-finger round, our first contestant found himself breezing through the ladder of questions before he was stumped just a question away from the grand prize and caught without any lifelines. It was a dramatic end to a promising run. With the “million dollars” still up for grabs, we held another fastest finger round. Our second contestant soon found herself stuck halfway up the ladder without any lifelines. Without a clear winner, we took on a democratic approach and left it to the audiences to decide. Through an advanced decision-making process of raising hands, our first contestant walked away as the Millionaire* that evening. Our second contestant was not outdone either, winning herself a book prize.

The night wrapped up with more prize-giveaways, light snacks and mingling. Now, who said learning can’t be fun!
