Terry can make dry toast sound fascinating.
Attendee
78 InDesign geeks enjoyed their fill of pizza, pasta, typography, and font management tips at our February 17 meeting. It was a great reunion of new and old friends, most of whom have been in hibernation for much of this bitter Wisconsin winter! Dignitaries included Ron Dahl, Executive Director of the Institute for Graphics and Imaging, and Kevin Stohlmeyer, Milwaukee Adobe Users Group chapter coordinator. Terry Rydberg began with an overview of typesetting fundamentals that separate the professionals from the "do-it-yourselfers." James Wamser, Adobe Certified Trainer, unraveled the complicated world of font management. A PDF of the handouts is available for download at the bottom of this summary.
Door prizes were a highlight, of course. Members were asked to donate $5 to defray costs. We received $178 in donations and the cost for this meeting was a little over $400. Note to members: If you can, bring a couple of extra bucks to our next meeting to help keep our club account healthy.
Thanks, everyone for coming! And, a special welcome to our first-time attendees! Please come back, and bring a friend! We'll keep you posted about our next meeting, which will cover styles and creating a table of contents. We value your suggestions and remember...each of you has a special InDesign skill to share with the group. Just let James or Terry know when you would like to present!
Thanks, InDesign friends!
