Milwaukee InDesign User Group
Meeting Notes Archive
February 5, 2008
Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these courageous Milwaukee InDesign users from attending a meeting! A snowstorm that dumped 12 inches on the Milwaukee area began during our Wonderful World of Color meeting on February 5. Although attendance was greatly reduced, the 30 attendees were glad they came!
David Pipp, color management instructor at WCTC, presented the basics of color management. Then we learned how custom inks are mixed and how a process color is run on press, demonstrated by Brian Eickmeyer and Steve Slaby, staff at WCTC. Kathy Reilly, from Print Production Advisory in Milwaukee, demonstrated how to do a better press check.
Comments from members:
“It’s good to learn more of the printing process than just the design work.”
“I loved seeing how important it is to try to match a process color to the spot color you may be using…all around good info and useful.”
And finally…
“Thanks for still having the meeting with the weather and making it shorter to allow us to get home earlier.”
