Font guru Thomas Phinney (http://www.thomasphinney.com, currently with Portland's own Extensis, 11-year Adobe veteran) gives you typography and more typography. Bring all your burning font questions, as there will be plenty of time for Q&A.
Part I of the evening includes a rant and tutorial on selecting and setting type for legibility, a tutorial on how fonts are made, an explanation of why font management (beyond Font Book) could be useful, and some tips and tricks.
Part II of the evening features a demo of OpenType in action, from workhorse features to automate quality typesetting to fonts that predict the future, randomize, translate, and censor. Don't miss it!
