Smart guides are great! How do you turn them off?

Change. Hope.
The Seattle InDesign User Group.
2009's first meeting found us planning for the rest of the year. Before the presentations of the new features in InDesign CS4, we broke up into five groups to plan around five broad topics for discussion:
Besides coming up with specific topics under those categories, and volunteering speakers for them, we encouraged volunteers to take on the duty of checking in attendees.
Although I'm waiting to hear from the rest of the note-takers of these group discussions, I can report that March (topic: Output) is a done deal!
And the Interactivity group began a blog a few hours after the meeting, too. That is food for thought for the rest of us, yes? More thoughts on that soon, I hope.
Just before the break, Colin Fleming showed a few scripts for Bridge and InDesign. To check out (and purchase) the new Contact Sheet script:

For the others Colin showed us, visit http://www.adobe.com/exchange and click on Bridge. You'll find the Export As JPEG script and many more.
As InDesign 1.0 was released in 1999, we took a moment to thank the humble but awesome InDesign team members who were in the room.
After the break, I (Steve) showed a few of my favorite new things in InDesign CS4. The demo file can be had at http://www.luminousworks.com/sidugJan2009.zip
Feel free to reverse-engineer it. For a list of the features we demonstrated, just see a list of InDesign CS4's new features:
